Born in Pointe Noire, Congo Brazzaville, Andréya Ouamba began his artistic career in 1993 when he met Chrysogone Diangouaya, the artistic director of the Monana Ballet Theatre and founder of the Mabina-Danse Festival in Brazzaville.

He joined the ballet and became the choreographer’s assistant. In 1995, after touring in DRC (formerly Zaire), Andréya Ouamba created his first choreographic production, “L‘haleine“, which won 1st Prize at the Mabina-Da
