The incident moved him to the core, he witnessed how the state of Maharastra was crippled during the 1972 drought, desperately in need of engineers to alleviate the crisis and pull the state out of its miseries. The thought of desired students deprived of the education they deserved, moved him to initiate the formation of the first 9 private engineering colleges in Maharashtra.
